ACTIVITIES IN AND AROUND
GAME DRIVES & BIRDING
Enjoy a game drive with our experienced and skilled game rangers. The Big Five are always a treat to try and find during your visit, but we really love showing you the abundance of animal life: the variety of antelope, the antics of the zebras and the stately giraffes. The interaction of the animals in nature always gives clues on what is happening, and seasonally it varies.

For bird lovers there are plenty to see, and we recommend you make a personal list. Birding is on a high demand.
Sunset at Compound Dam, you might see the flock of Yellow Throated Sand Grouse coming for a drink of water. Two different Whydahs can be seen, two kinds of Babblers noisely chattering, and many different woodpeckers to be spotted timbering away on bark.
For the raptors, look out for the Wahlberg and Black Chested Snake Eagle as well as many different falcons.
Summer visitors add a whole new list to our birding, from the European Roller to the spectacular Bee Eaters and many more. The water birds are also numerous - our favourite place to see them are at Mankwe Dam.

Don't forget your camera - photography is a big past time at Kgorogoro, and you can sharpen your wildlife-photography skills.

AT THE LODGE
Have drinks and relax on the veranda, watching the antics of the squirrels, the hornbillsand and the francolin family. Look out just behind the garden for a quick glance at the slender mongoose.
Keep the rock water feature full, and you can see the different fire finches and waxbills bathing daily.
Recline and read in the lounge - bring a few books or choose one from our library to enjoy your reading.
Play Rummy Cub or card games, build a puzzle or relax horizontally in front of the TV.​
Swim in the clear blue pool, bath in the sun.

Eat, rest, game drive, rest, play, eat... repeat!
